This project was produced in May 2022, when my city underwent a COVID lockdown. Due to the decrease in human activities, wildlife was more active than usual in my neighborhood. I started to notice a little bridge near an artificial lake where every morning a group of birds and small mammals would gather to drink water. As days goes by, that bridge became the source of my joy as I watched all kinds of animals come and go.


That experience changed my approach to tell stories about wildlife. For many people, perhaps advocating for wildlife conservation in Africa is a little beyond their capabilities, but it’s not hard to notice a sparrow paying a visit to their balconies. When we feel the calm and happiness brought to us by these animals, we form closer bonds with them, and genuine care starts from that. Thus in this project, instead of exploring the grand topic of wildlife conservation, I drew a joyous little story about a fox. Perhaps the next time you saw a fox, it would evoke a spark of joy in your heart.
